These are sites that I've found to be helpful, amusing, important, or otherwise worthy of my time. All links open up in a new window.

Resources - Web Design

1. HTMLCodeTutorial.com - "Our users commonly comment that HTML Code Tutorial is one of the best on the web; and we recently added a Help Forum, which you can click on from the home page and get personalized help."
2. HTML for Beginners - An Interactive Tutorial - I've recommended this to every person who has ever asked me "How did you learn to make web pages?". 3. Neon Design Tips - Dave's follow up site once you finish the first. Step two in your quest to become a web genius.
4. W3C - For the advanced user. Recommendations for XHTML and HTML 4.0 and how to best utilize them. 5. Webmonkey.com - This site is always very fresh and current. It's just plain fun!

Humor

1. Jokeaday - You've probably already heard of this one, but maybe you haven't been there in awhile. Some of it is raunchy (pictures), so don't say I didn't warn you. 2. The Onion - America's finest news source (for those of us who love satire, anyway).
3. Top 5 - David Letterman eat your heart out. Check out the archives for hours of laughter. It's a great ab workout. 4. Snopes.com - One of the many (but best, IMO) web sites dedicated to revealing the truth about hoaxes that are being swapped between friends through e-mail every day. I always check this site before passing on any "Warning: Pass this along to everyone you ever met!" e-mails. Do your friends a favor and do the same [especially if I'm in your address book. ;-)]

Entertainment

1. Hissyfit - Lots of funny and interesting things can be found here. There are interactive boards where you can speak your mind on an endless amount of subjects. I've realized the "regulars" around there have WAY too much time on their hands. 2. QueenDom - If you're a fan of those magazine surveys and tests, then THIS is the site for you. They have everything from intelligence tests to all sorts of mind games (everyone needs a good mind game now and then, right?).
3. The Station - On-line games like Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Kill some time. Win pretend money. Or if you're like me, lose your money and your ego ... on Jeopardy. 4. Wavtopia - An internet site containing more than 500 sounds from movies. Again, waste some time, bring back some memories. Does Barry Manilow know you raid his wardrobe?
5. Launch - Discover new music....and so much more. This site has everything from audio, video, and news on your favorite artists. 6. Astrology.net - Yes, astrology. No, I don't believe all of it. Just get the free reading. If you don't find it eerily accurate, then you can turn your nose up at it.
7. Broadcast - It's like Yahoo on uppers. . News, sports, music, TV, movies and more. Lots of multimedia choices. 8. Mighty Big TV - Read the reviews YOU want to hear. Funny and sarcastic, what could be better?
